My Background
Having retired after a 30-year career as a healthcare attorney in private practice and ultimately in-house, as a Deputy General Counsel at a major healthcare organization, I have invested over 100 hours of continuing legal education in Immigration Law and received certification from the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant & Refugee Rights for the successful completion of a comprehensive Immigration Law training program in 2016.
My Goal
Most people seeking immigration relief do so without legal representation, a significant disadvantage according to a recent study conducted by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University.¹ I hope to offer a wide range of immigration services at accessible rates.
¹ A study of asylum decisions in Immigration Court by TRAC Immigration found that, on average, asylum applicants with a lawyer win about 51.5% of their cases while those without a lawyer win only about 11% of their cases. Having an attorney therefore makes an applicant nearly five times more likely to be granted asylum.
